A quaint little town on the beautiful St.
Croix River. Just across the Scenic St. Croix River in Wisconsin you'll
find a wonderful little town very close to the Twin Cities. Osceola is
an historic town with many sites to see.
The L.O.Simenstad Municipal Airport is popular for sport aviation of all
kinds. For many years Champion Aircraft found its home in Osceola.
Osceola Historical Societyšs Emily Olson house on River Street or the
historic railroad station off the South end of Main Street, are nice
places to visit.
The antique and gift shops downtown are fun as well. The Fall season
starts with a community fair held in early September. It is a great
family event that has games and fun for all ages. The best part of the
fair weekend is Saturday when the Wheels and Wings event takes place. It
begins with a vintage car show held at Classic Motorbooks International,
followed by an air show at the airport. There are arts and craft
displays are located all over town. Visitors can park their cars and
ride free shuttle buses all around the town during this event.
A drive through the area during the fall color season is something that
no visitor should miss. It's also a great time to spend the night at one
of the many bed and breakfasts in the Osceola area and enjoy a great
weekend.
Winter season brings opportunities for snowmobiles, cross country
skiing, and downhill skiing all winter long. Trollhaugen Ski Area (just
3 miles North of Osceola) is great for winter fun.
Summertime begins with a variety of events. You can canoe the St. Croix
River by renting a canoe at Taylors Falls/St. Croix Falls and travel to
Osceolašs river landing. This is a 3- to 6-hour activity that is
inexpensive and beautiful for the entire family. When youšre through
with the canoe trip, you can stop in at one of Osceolašs eating
establishments and relax. There is a beautiful golf course two miles
east of town on County Hwy. M. Krooked Kreek is an 18-hole course that
is always fun. On Thursdays you'll enjoy our Music In The Park
performances in June and July at the Millside park. All summer long the
community baseball team plays at Oakey Park in the center of Osceola.
The Osceola & St. Croix Valley Railway also offers spectacular
excursions across and along the St. Croix River from May through
October.
