Our Focus
Every church must have a set of focus
point to implement their vision. These focus points guide and directs
their goals, their methods, their programs and their daily activities.
The vision for Grace
Church is to reach "broken people" and our
focus encompasses seven basic elements. In studying the Bible there
appear to be basic elements that are common factors in churches that
were making a difference over the long haul. When a church seriously
addresses these seven items, when they become second nature to the
membership, when they are foremost in the minds of the leadership and
when all programs and changes are evaluated against these elements, then
we believe God can entrust a church with growth. Those basic elements
are:
1. Individual and corporate prayer as a way of life
2. Small group Bible studies for growth, nurture and mutual
accountability
3. Praise and Worship Music that glorifies God, not just makes man feel
good
4. Strong preaching that is both powerful and practical
5. Evangelism by word and deed
6. One-on-one discipleship to conform others to the image of Christ
7. A strong balance between love and holiness.
Looking at churches over the past century that have made an impact for
God, these seven elements were a part of each church. They weren’t just
programs in the church. They were ministries. They were pervasive. They
were on the hearts and minds of the people. The leadership was committed
to these seven principles.
These basic elements comprise the focus of Grace
Church. They
are used to evaluate ministries and implement changes. It will help all
our members to understand the burden that the Lord has laid upon our
heart for the future.
